Welcome to the Hoard Gallery

We have opened and are announcing our arrival to the world. It’s been an emotional journey but with a little perseverance and a lot of stamina we have made it. We would like to say a big Thank You to all the artists that have placed their wonderful work with us and also say a big Hello to young artists that are seeking to place their work in a gallery.

So if you would like to know a little more about us read on:

Sandgate sits on the periphery of Folkestone on the South Coast in Kent. The Hoard gallery is on the High Street, which has seen some significant developments over the last year and is now growing into a thriving hub for small start up enterprises. Our bigger neighbour Folkestone has attracted many artists and creatives into its studios and shops and future planned developments can only increases its vibrance.

Our aims for Hoard are high, we want to showcase the best that the creative world has to offer and support the development of new talent, and we feel very privileged to house the work of artists that you will find on our site. We aspire to be different and like to feel that our small gallery is eclectic and exciting but you need to visit us to let us know if we achieve those aspirations.

Our current display of work is inspired by our love of music particularly music form the 70’s and we have some electric work from Brian Aris, John Stoddart, and Peter Hince. We were fortunate enough to look through the archives of these photographers and were overwhelmed by the moments that they have captured and their mastery of their art. John Stoddarts recent show at L’Escargot in Soho was testament to this, showcasing work from across the years with images that reflect the changing face of fashion and celebrity.

Opening a gallery has been both a daunting but exciting experience and but we hope that we can aspire to greatness and create a unique visual experience for anyone that visits us, so don’t be a stranger!!!!
